FEB. 14 GRAND RALLY
To convey Japan's conscience for peace to the world
No war on Iraq! Stop war legislation!
APPEAL
At this moment of the critical situation of world peace, we canユt keep
silence.
We are following with deep concern and indignation the Bush Administrationユs
rushing to military attack on Iraq.
Victims of war are always innocent children, women and a vast number
of common people. It is not up to any one nation, including the United
States, to unilaterally attack the other. International law and precedent
holds that the U.S. preemptive war against Iraq canユt be justified.
On weapons of mass destruction, the U.N. inspections are going on now.
It is a time to make efforts for a peaceful solution by continuing with
thoroughgoing inspections. There is no reason for rushing to a war at
this time.
The people of the world are making their voices for peace resounded across
the oceans to every continent, so that a war has been stopped. With this
conviction, itユs time for every one of us to make a voice lauder.
We call on all people in Japan to join hands with us in shouting in unison:
- No to war, yes for peace;
- Make the Government of Japan stand against a war on Iraq.
We call upon all the worldユs peoples to join hands with us in shouting
all in unison:
NO WAR ON IRAQ!
